German 119th & BritishVAD

While the focus of our organization is the Royal Newfoundland Regiment we do have a First World War German uniform to aid in our interpretation. It is usually used as static display along with British VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) nurse’s uniform (see below). This German uniform is badged to represent a Sergeant from the 119th Reserve Infantry Regiment from an area of Germany then known as Württemberg. This is the regiment that was manning the trenches on the other side of No Man’s Land on July 1st, 1916 at Beaumont Hamel.
